What this does

Once it's set up, you paste in your current pitch and Claude asks you three quick questions — how long the slot is, any angle you want to push this week, and a client result you'd like to lead with. It then rewrites your pitch to fit the time, sound natural out loud, and avoid the things that make a pitch fall flat.

When you're happy with it, Claude can write you three more variations to rotate through future meetings — same opening and close so the room locks in your name, with a different story each week so you never sound "same old".

Full installation instructions

Written for complete beginners. It takes about five minutes to set up, and a few minutes each time you use it. The install needs to happen on claude.ai in a web browser on a computer, not the phone app.

Part 1 — Turn on Skills (one-time setup)

Before you can install any skill, Claude needs two things switched on: "Code execution and file creation", and "Skills". You only do this once.

1. Go to claude.ai in your web browser and sign in.
2. Open Settings — the quickest way is to go straight to claude.ai/settings. (Or click your profile icon, the small circle with your initials, in the left sidebar, then choose "Settings".)
3. In the Settings sidebar, click Capabilities, find "Code execution and file creation", and switch it on. If it's already on, leave it.
4. Now head to the Skills page — go straight to claude.ai/customize/skills. (Or in the main sidebar, find "Customize" — a separate top-level menu, not inside Settings — then click "Skills".) You'll see some built-in skills like Word, Excel and PDF. You don't need to change those.

Part 2 — Install the pitch refiner

1. Save fresh-pitch-refiner.zip somewhere easy to find, like your Desktop or Downloads. Don't unzip it — Claude wants the zip as-is.
2. On the Skills page (claude.ai/customize/skills), look for a "+" button near the top-right of the skills list.
3. Click it, then click "+ Create skill".
4. Choose "Upload a skill".
5. Select the fresh-pitch-refiner.zip file from wherever you saved it.
6. Wait a few seconds. A new skill called "fresh-pitch-refiner" will appear in your list. Make sure the toggle next to it is on — that's it, the skill is installed.

Part 3 — Use it for the first time

1. In Claude, click "New chat" at the top of the left sidebar to open a fresh conversation.
2. Paste in your current Fresh pitch. No need to introduce it — you can write something like: "Here's my current Fresh pitch — can you help me refine it for tomorrow's meeting?" and paste your pitch underneath. Send it.
3. Claude will reply with three quick questions:
   • How long is the slot? 30, 45, or 60 seconds.
   • Any specific angle this week? A theme, a recent win, a topical hook. If nothing in particular, just say "general".
   • A client outcome to lead with? Something concrete like "saved a client 12 hours a week". No example front of mind? Say so, and Claude leads with the problem you solve instead.
4. Answer those and send. Claude writes a refined pitch with the word count, an estimated delivery time, and short notes on what's working.
5. Tweak it or accept it. If something's off — too long, wrong tone, wrong call-to-action, the story doesn't land — just tell Claude and it'll rework it. Keep going until you're happy.
6. Get three more for future meetings. Once you're happy, Claude offers three more variations — same opening and close, different middles. Say yes, save them to your phone or a note, and you're set for a month of meetings.

Part 4 — Make the skill work better

Claude does its best work when it knows a bit about you and your business. With that context, the pitch sounds like you instead of generic. Take five minutes to fill in your profile — you only do this once.

1. Go to claude.ai/settings (or click your profile icon → Settings).
2. Find the "Profile" or "Personalisation" section. (The exact name moves around as Claude updates — look for anything about "what Claude should know about you".)
3. Add a few short paragraphs covering:
   • What your business does, in plain English — who you help and how.
   • Who your ideal client is — industry, size, location, the kind of person.
   • The outcomes you typically deliver — specific results, not vague claims.
   • Anything distinctive about your style — how you talk, what makes you different.
   • A couple of real client wins, if you have permission to mention them.
4. Save. From now on Claude uses that context every time you chat — it'll improve everything else you do with Claude too.
